Grace & Regina
With the use of a strobe light we were able to capture motion in detail. This showed us the exact movements that were happening throughout the whole time. We used a constant strobe and a long exposure to take this picture. We had someone do a motion that could be easily captured with our equipment.
With the use of a noise censored flash and a BB gun we captured the explosion of a strawberry. We set up our flash so that when we shot the BB gun is set the flash off and lit up our shot. We used a long exposure and different apertures in order to find the right balance.
We used the same technique as with the strawberry to shoot the ornaments. The only difference was that we had to use several shots with the BB gun to capture a full shatter. We used the same flash circuit and camera settings.
This was one of the easiest photos for us to take. We used the same flash set up as all the other pictures. It was easier to capture because the praying motion was constant, therefore we didn't need precise timing.
We were able to shoot the crayons by using a high powered rifle with copper BB's.
This is our favorite shot. We think that this truly defines our work and what we strived to get in every photo. We used the high powered rifle with copper BB's to shoot the lightbulb. We had to shoot it many time in order to get a shattering effect. We were proud of this because at this point in the process we had all the steps down so well that we were able to get good results many times.
